Project Description:
Over a twenty one month period (April 2011 – January 2013), Faulconer served as the prime site contractor on two major contract segments for the construction of the new Shops at Stonefield development in Albemarle County.
The scope of work included an initial grading package with 600,000 CY of earthwork, installation of a 245,234 CF underground stormwater management system with treatment facilities, five horizontal jack and bores ranging from 24″ to 96″ under Route 29, and 3400 LF of electric ductbank and 4000 LF of communication ductbank.
The later Town Center, Regal and Stonefield Boulevard packages included 10,000 LF of storm sewer, 84 storm structures, 21 Filterra storm water treatment structures, 5145 LF of onsite sanitary sewer, 24 sanitary manholes, 7695 LF of onsite waterline, 24,000 LF of curb, 23,000 SY of onsite roads and 45,000 SY of parking area.
The Offsite Road improvements included the installation of an additional southbound lane on Rt. 29 from Greenbrier to Hydraulic Road, and 2 lanes and a median on Hydraulic Road. The signal improvements included three upgrades and two new signals. The offsite sanitary included 3000 LF of sanitary outfall.
